This week Avishai released the brand new single, ‘Motherless Child’, from his forth coming album ‘1970’ (October 2017 – Sony Masterworks)

‘1970’ sees Avishai unveil 12 pieces that range from heartfelt original songs in English to spirited reprises of Middle Eastern folk songs. Cohen and a superb band have fine-tuned arrangements that are enviably concise. But for now, in one of the most interesting artistic decisions on the album, Cohen puts his stamp on one of the most timeless of gospel anthems, Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child.
