Avishai and his trio with Guy Moskovich (piano) and Roni Kaspi (drums) began 2023 with 2 sold-out shows at concert venues in Germany. Such an inspiring and lovely start to the new year!

2023 is shaping up to be a very exciting, action-packed year for Avishai.

Upcoming shows are scheduled for the trio in February in the Benelux region before they head to Tokyo, Japan to complete a series of shows at the venerable Blue Note. The trio will also be touring throughout the year, hitting Europe, North America, South America and Japan along the way.

NEW LIVE PROJECT “BANDA IROKO”
|
On 12th March 2023 Avishai will debut his newest project “Banda Iroko” live at Le Chatelet in Paris.
|
“Iroko” is inspired and derived from the tradition rooted in Afro-Caribbean music. Alongside Avishai on stage will be some of the very first musicians he performed with in New York in the vibrant downtown club scene of the early 90’s.
|
‘’‘Iroko’ is a long time dream I have had since knowing and playing with Abraham Rodrigues Jr., a unique singer, conguero and master of Afro-Caribbean music in its full spectrum. I have assembled this all star band to now execute live this amazing project ‘Iroko’‘

“AMITY” DUET WITH MAKOTO OZONE in TOKYO
WORLD PREMIERE
|
On 24th February Avishai and Makoto Ozone will premiere their new “Amity” duet project with 2 special shows at the Blue Note in Tokyo, Japan. This will mark the first time these two giants of jazz will perform together on stage. The “Amity” duet is inspired by Friendship, Peace, Harmony and Mutual Understanding.
|
Makoto Ozone and Avishai Cohen, are both unique creators of jazz in the world today with substantial paths and careers forged, who are also both closely intertwined to belated jazz legend Chick Corea.

Tel Aviv Beyrouth : Avishai’s original music score and debut acting role to premiere 1ST February in Paris, France.
|
With the backdrop of the 1980s Israeli-Lebanese conflict, this powerful film portrays the journeys of two women separated from their families by the border and war. Directed by Michale Boganim, Avishai composed the original music score and also makes his acting debut!
