Still recovering from the emotions and good vibes Avishai received in May during his tour with the Metropole Orkest conducted by maestro Jules Buckley performing 6 concerts in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany and wow, it was a great experience with amazing musicians and hot audiences.

What the fans had to say.
‘It was unforgettable‘, ‘as always an amazing a wonderful evening‘, ‘a great performance, enjoyed every minute of it‘, ‘excellent, emotional, heartwarming and a virtuoso performance‘, ‘it was indeed one of the best concerts I’ve ever witnessed…’
‘What a thrilling experience, it moved me to tears ‘.
‘The concert was superb and ranks with the best I have been to in my life. An amazing blend of jazz, Latin, middle eastern and new music. from Avishai The arrangements were seamless, the flow supernatural, overwhelming and unique. I doubt whether any other than the Metropole Orchestra could handle the multitude of challenges and complexity and they nailed it! Rarely have I seen such a combination of total focus and concentration with utter joy, swing and smiles on every musician’s face.’
‘I was not alone in my opinion; the audience gave three heartfelt standing ovations during the concert! Thank you Avishai Cohen for your magic, thank you Jules Buckley and thank you to the amazing musicians of the Metropole Orkest!’

On Saturday May 31st the month ended in beauty at the packed Opera House in Tel Aviv with Avishai’s Quintet.
“Judging by last night’s one-off concert (Saturday) at the Tel Aviv Opera House, Avishai new quintet is a resounding success.
Alongside Avishai are four Israeli musicians, all younger than him and all brilliant: saxophonist Yuval Darvin – who has a sensitive and beautiful sound (“and that is a very difficult thing to do with this instrument” Cohen comments); trombonist Yonatan Voltzuk – a composer in his own right who knows how to extract from this large wind instrument a truly lyrical delicacy (“one of the best trombonists in the world” says Cohen); drummer Eviatar Slivnik – a young Israeli who has been living and playing in New York for the past decade, and is highly sought after in the city and finally Cohen’s other new discovery – Itay Simhovich (21) – a young pianist and very promising. Cohen said of him that “he is really wow” and quite rightly so. The beauty of this new quintet is that it not only sounds homogeneous as if they have been working for years, but they also already have a distinct sound. None of these virtuosos seek to show excessive arrogance. There is mutual respect there, All that remains is to recommend – if they perform in Israel again – to run and listen.
The pleasure is guaranteed.”
